Elie Wiesel, Nobel peace prize winner and professor at Boston University said this about fanaticism:
“A fanatic is someone who doesn’t listen to [anything] except his own ideas.
A fanatic never has any questions, only answers”
There are some from traditions (including me) that don’t place high value on healthy questioning. My favorite songwriter Martyn Joseph has a song titled “Treasure the questions”. I like that. Not despise the questions, or pretend there are no questions but this sense of hanging on to, journeying with, appreciating those areas of life and faith that we cannot inherently know.
God save us from being those who have only answers.

I have only been listening to this album for a couple of days, but i have to say that already it is my favourite Coldplay album. Without a doubt, “Death and all his friends” is worth the price alone.

I am in the midst of four days of training on the Baldridge quality standard for organizations. One of the major concentrations on this standard is measurability. Everything, and I mean everything that is listed as a strategic challenge needs to be addressed and measured in the strategic plan.
Note that this quality standard is utilized equally by profits and non-profits.
My question comes to Refugee Ministry where our concentration is relationally based - not in numbers served. So back to the question: How do you measure relational effectiveness?

About 6pm local time we experienced a massive hail storm. Without exaggeration - some were golf ball sized. It was terrifying to watch the trees being stripped of their leaves, everything covered in white like winter. Luckily, our Jeep parked out front took a lickin, but kept on tickin. I was sure that we were going to get panel damage.
It was quite an experience - Loud hammering, kids crying - what an afternoon.
